Saw the alcoholic drinks in the fridge, this remind me of the visitation to GAB in Sungai Way.
Guiness Anchor Berhad was the destination of our industrial visit of the Food Processing and Preservation students. We went there during last semester, 16/3/10.
As soon as we arrived at the site, we were lead in by one of the personnel of the company.
The moment when we step our foot into a bar-like place, the interior was astonishingly designed and furnished with wooden tables and chairs.
Then, the person-in-charged led us into the factory and explained to us the ingredients and process of making alcoholic drinks.
There are few ingredients in beer that are water, germinated barley, roasted barley, malt, yeast and hops.
Different portion of the raw materials produce different products such as a portion of the barley is roasted to give Guinness its characteristic taste and dark colour.

From the overall visitation experience, it was a definitely an eye-opener especially when we were able to have a more detail insight of the beer production.
At the end of the tour, we gathered back at where we started our tour which is the bar-like place.
We were offered free drinks and some of them delightedly have generous helpings of their favourite ones.
Likewise, it was a great exposure on the food industrial field and with the knowledge that we gain, it will be of a lot of help in giving us a better understanding in food processing.
With all the matters mentioned, we will be looking forward to visitations like this, not only for sight-seeing reasons but to gain more information about the other food industries out there.
